Introduction

WoS Calculators ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and store information when you use our website and Discord bot (together, the "Service"). This policy was updated in July 2026 to reflect our Discord bot's data handling.

Information We Collect

Calculator Data: All calculator inputs (gear levels, hero progress, etc.) are stored locally on your device using browser local storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers.

Discord Account Data (optional): If you choose to log in via Discord, we collect and store the following from your Discord account:

• Your Discord user ID
• Your Discord username
• Your Discord avatar
• Whether you are a member of the WoS Calculators Discord server

Discord login is optional — all calculators are accessible without an account.

Discord Bot Data: If you message our Discord bot ("Frost Forge") directly or mention it in a server, we store:

• The messages you send the bot and the bot's replies, for support and abuse-prevention purposes
• Reminders you create (title, optional note, and scheduled time) so the bot can deliver them (Pro subscribers only)
• Your timezone, if you set one, so reminder times are interpreted correctly

Message content you send the bot may be processed by a third-party AI service to understand your request — see Third-Party Services below.

Pro Account Data (Pro subscribers only): If you subscribe to Pro, we additionally store the following in your account:

• Your calculator settings (Valeria level, VP Bonus, research/construction/training speeds, troop capacity, and deployment capacity) so they can be synced across your devices
• Calculator states for Expert Hero Skills, Relationship, FC Buildings, Regular Buildings, Troop Training, War Academy, and Research Center — saved to your account for cross-device sync
• Chief Gear, Chief Charms, and Pet Advancement calculator data
• Squad formation loadouts (up to 10 named formations)
• Up to 10 Alliance Territory Planner layouts, including layout names and tile configurations

Subscription & Payment Data: If you subscribe to Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number or full payment details. We store the following in our database to manage your subscription:

• Your Stripe customer ID
• Your Stripe subscription ID
• Your subscription status (active / cancelled)

Community Chat Content: If you use the Community Chat, the text you post is stored in our database along with your Discord username, avatar, and timestamp.

Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics (page views, device type, general location). This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you via Discord and display your username/avatar
• To store and display your Community Chat posts and replies
• To identify server members and show membership badges
• To enforce moderation actions (e.g. muting users who violate rules)
• To manage your Pro subscription status and grant access to Pro features
• To sync your calculator settings across devices (Pro subscribers only)
• To store and retrieve your saved Alliance Territory Planner layouts (Pro subscribers only)
• To assign or remove your Pro Discord role based on subscription status
• To respond to your Discord bot messages and calculate upgrade costs
• To schedule and deliver reminders you create via the bot (Pro subscribers only)
• To improve the Service using anonymous analytics data

Cookies and Local Storage

Auth Cookie: When you log in with Discord, we set an auth_token cookie containing a signed JWT (JSON Web Token) that keeps you logged in for 30 days. This cookie is HttpOnly and is not accessible to JavaScript on the page.

Consent Cookie: We store a flag in your browser's local storage to remember that you have acknowledged our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy so the notice is not shown again.

Local Storage: We use browser local storage to save calculator settings, your chat panel position, and the number of threads you last viewed. This data stays on your device.

Third-Party Services

• Discord: Used for login/authentication, our Discord bot, and Discord role assignment for Pro subscribers. Subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude): Processes messages sent to our Discord bot to understand and respond to your requests. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe: Processes all subscription payments. Your payment details are handled directly by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We never see or store your card details.
• MongoDB Atlas: Hosts our database where Community Chat posts, user data, bot DM logs, reminders, and subscription records are stored.
• Vercel: Hosts the Service and provides anonymous analytics.

Data Retention and Deletion

Community Chat posts and Discord profile data are retained as long as your content exists in the chat. You may delete your own posts at any time. Discord bot DM logs are retained for support and abuse-prevention purposes; reminders are deleted once they fire or when you delete them. Subscription records are retained for as long as required for billing and legal compliance. If you wish to have all of your data removed, please contact us via Discord.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including signed JWT tokens, HttpOnly cookies, server-side authentication checks, and Stripe webhook signature verification. We do not store Discord access tokens or payment card details.

Children's Privacy

The Service requires a Discord account for login. Discord's minimum age requirement is 13. Pro subscriptions require payment and are intended for users who are of legal age to enter into contracts in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Edit or delete your Community Chat posts at any time
• Delete your reminders, or request deletion of your Discord bot DM history
• Log out to clear your auth session
• Clear local storage and cookies via your browser settings
• Use all calculators without logging in

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
